Not an open day, but a personal visit to the Linz Gstadt Bahn, owned and operated by Paul 'Stainz' Holt. Although I have known Paul 'virtually' for a number of years now via various garden railway related forums, we met in person for the first time here at his wonderful garden railway. This line makes great use of a difficult sloping terrain to reproduce a little slice of Austria in a corner of North Wales.

Not an open day, but a model railway exhibition at Villeneuve d'Ascq, near Lille in France. Some excellent models were on display, a significant proportion of which were large scale. Live steam was also well represented.

A mad diesel, a suicidal live-steamer, some beautifully hand-crafted trams, a quadruple-header of Mallets hauling a rake of 16 DR coaches, visitors from the length and breadth of the country, and even from France... just another quiet Sunday in a garden in Kent!
